Chasing Freedom is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization that is focused on ONE GOAL...helping dogs go from CAGES to COUCHES. We strive to help the dogs who can not help themselves through foster programs, fundraising, social media, community involvement, and behavioral training. Through these efforts, we hope to increase the likeliness of these dogs getting adopted and out of the shelter environment.
The good boy inspiration and mascot behind "Chasing Freedom". We adopted Chase in 2018 from a high-kill shelter in South Florida. He was surrendered by his owner with another dog and was immediately in danger because he was terrified and did not do well in the shelter environment. Soon, his "brother" got adopted and he was left there alone, which made his behavior continue to decline. 2 long months later, he was put in the display case as the "Pet of the Week" as a last resort. Luckily, we went to the shelter that same day and he was the first thing we saw (pictured moment on right). When we took him out to meet him, he wouldn't come anywhere near us, and was immobilized by fear. It was very clear to us why he wasn't adopted yet, and most likely wouldn't be. Knowing he didn't stand a chance, we wanted to give him one. He has thanked us every day since by being the most incredible dog, and from here we just want to help more dogs like him.
